RiMatrix5 is an integrated Rittal system that provides comprehensive protection for your IT infrastructure. It includes five components: server cabinets, solutions for physical security, cooling, power, monitoring and remote management.
The system is fully scalable, so it can be tailored to the needs of each server room.
Companies implementing RiMatrix5 solutions can count on For Rittal specialist advice and 24 hour service, 7 days a week throughout the year.

Rack cabinets

When selecting cabinets for server rooms, care should be taken to ensure that they provide the right conditions for the operation of the equipment and that they will allow optimal use of the available space. Rittal recommends TS8 and Flex Rack (i) cabinets. They are distinguished by almost unlimited possibilities of internal development, convenient cabling, quick assembly and attractive design.
The versatility of the TS8 and Flex Rack enclosures is inter alia. With the extensive range of accessories, you can create individual configurations. Cabinets can be adjusted to the needs of installation also by adjusting their width and depth, choosing a single, double or corner model or choosing the type of side walls and doors (steel, glass, perforated).
Models are also available for mounting on two mounting levels.

Power supply

Stable power supply is a fundamental requirement for uninterrupted operation of IT systems. Within the RiMatrix5 system, Rittal offers a Power Distribution Rack (PDR) solution that allows up to 8 Power Distribution Modules (PDMs) to be used to distribute 40kW power in server and network enclosures.
The Power System Modul (PSM), which is a fully wired power supply with two power circuits, provides protection against touching. Countermeasures for potential voltage dropouts allow single- and three-phase UPS. Rittal offers single-phase UPSs ranging from 1 to 6 kVA, both in rack and in tower housing. Three-phase UPSs - also rack mounted, with built-in or external batteries - of 10 to 120 kVA are available in modules from 10 to 40 kVA.

Cooling

Properly adjusted air conditioning contributes to prolonging the life of the electronics and reduces the risk of breakdowns that can result in downtime. The RiMatrix5 concept incorporates an innovative cooling method using LCP water-air heat exchangers mounted on the side wall of the server cabinet or between two cabinets.
The basic heat exchanger drains the heat with cooling power up to 20 kW per rack, while the LCP plus model - up to 40 kW. Water-cooled air is blown directly in front of each server array with the same intensity across the entire height of the enclosure (secure connection technique prevents water and electronics interference). The flow of air in this way optimizes the cooling capacity to match the power loss.
It is worth adding that the LCP solution is modular in design - the number of exchangers can be flexibly increased if, for example, additional cabinets appear in the server room.

 Security

The server room is constantly exposed to the negative effects of physical factors - fire, flood, occurrence of corrosive gases, etc. That is why prevention is so important. Rittal has a large selection of sensors that allow Reading temperature and humidity levels, as well as detecting smoke or leakage.
Rittal's security solutions also include state-of-the-art access control methods, including motion sensors, vandalism, chip and magnetic card sensors.

Monitoring and remote management

Centralized sensor data acquisition and management enables a modular IT monitoring and control system, available under the CMC-TC name. The CMC-TC is based on a PU (Processing Unit) to which the sensors mentioned above are connected. By default, this is a wire connection, but the radio-based method is becoming more and more popular, enabling the installation of sensors in any location without additional wiring. The CMC-TC automatically sends the person reports based on sensor information. This ensures that personnel immediately know about elevated temperatures, humidity or unauthorized access (depending on the type of sensor installed).
The CMC-TC system also allows remote monitoring of LCP water-air heat exchangers.
